At Hands Empowered Initiative, we are committed to alleviating poverty in the villages of Ukambani, Kenya. We focus on addressing both immediate and long-term needs, while sharing the message of Jesus Christ through our work.

Hands Empowered Initiative exists to glorify God through compassionate service to others, following the inspiring legacy of Teresia Mwikali. Born into poverty in Ukambani, Kenya, Teresia’s journey was marked by resilience and faith. With little access to education as a child, she was nearly 16 when missionaries first brought schooling to her village. Despite her brief schooling, Teresia’s experience ignited a lifelong passion for education and community empowerment.

Determined to give her own children the opportunities she missed, Teresia worked tirelessly, raising eight children, six of whom went on to achieve postgraduate degrees. Her vision extends beyond her family, as she continuously advocated for the education of children in her village, often seeking resources to support those who could not afford it.

Inspired by her mother’s steadfast dedication and love for God, Annastasia founded Hands Empowered Initiative to further Teresia’s mission. The initiative’s primary goal is to honor and glorify God through acts of service, reaching out to the community by providing educational support, basic necessities, and sustainable economic opportunities. Hands Empowered Initiative strives to lift families out of poverty, equipping them to flourish independently.

Through these efforts, Hands Empowered Initiative celebrates the transformative power of God’s love in action, bringing hope and sustainable change to the lives of those in Ukambani.
